Pine Nuts
Pine Nuts are crunchy yet butter textured, pleasantly sweet and delicious. Although called a ‘nut’, Pine Nuts are actually the small edible seeds collected from female cones in around 20 varieties of different pine trees. Our Raw Pine Nuts are large in size, have no added preservatives and are non-GMO. They are a fantastic ingredient in raw foods, baked goods, sweet or savoury recipes.
Pine kernels are a splendid source of plant derived nutrients, essential minerals, vitamins and "heart friendly" monounsaturated fatty acids that help benefit in reducing cholesterol levels in the blood. Pine Nuts are an excellent source of Vitamin E and the B-complex group of vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine) and folate. Furthermore, Pine Nuts contain healthy amounts of essential minerals like manganese, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and selenium.

Toss pine nuts – raw or lightly toasted – over salads, in sauces, pastas or side dishes. They are the perfect addition to stuffings with their buttery texture and nutty flavour. Pine nuts are a delicious in home-baked bread and savoury muffins. A tasty, convenient and nutritious addition to your pantry.
Ground pine nuts are a traditional ingredient in pesto. Combine with fresh basil, a little olive oil and grated parmesan cheese (optional) in a blender to create this simple yet mouth-watering paste for pasta sauces, dips and as a spread on wraps and sandwiches. For some variety replace basil with fresh coriander or rocket leaves.
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
